New Website!

2007-08-18

Well, as you can see, I have finally decided to put up a new website. This site is created with a great framework for web development called Ruby on Rails. It is definitely not complete, yet, but I have been thinking about the whole "Agile" development thing, so I figured I would get something simple up, and expand upon it in small iterations. Please check back for more updates to my new site!

My new job

2007-02-23

Well, you definitely wouldn't be able to gather this from the looks of this site, but I have managed to land a job as a Front End Web Developer at a company called Open Hospitality. I must say that this is a fun, and rewarding job! Maybe, at some point, I will conjure up my newfound skills and make my own site look(and function) a little better. We'll see :o) Music has surprisingly taken a backseat to this web stuff lately. A couple of years ago, I never would've have pictured myself doing this, but, I really do like it. So, we'll see! And, for the three people that actually read this between now and July(namely Michelle and mom), I feel good now that I know you will be informed of my situation. Anyway........it's been a while, and that's what is happening. Spring is on the horizon......................

All moved in.

2006-09-08

Well, we are finally moved in to our place in Astoria. Michelle just started a job as a receptionist for a pediatrics office, and I will be working at the Apple Store starting Monday. We are very excited to take advantage of all New York has to offer! If any of you are visiting the city, do not hesitate to give us a call! Ciao.

Moving to NYC in 3 Weeks.

2006-08-13

Well, the wedding was awesome, and the honeymoon was super relaxing. Thanks to all of those who attended; we really had a great time! Two days after we got back from the honeymoon, I flew to NYC to find a place for Michelle and I to live. We have signed the lease and are moving in on Sept. 1st! The apartment is in Astoria at Steinway St. and 25th Ave. We are looking forward to seeing everyone who lives in the city, and if anyone else is ever visiting, we have couches!

Site Updates

2006-07-17

I have begun to implement a content management system into my website to make it easier to update. If you happen to see any weirdness, it is probably because I was working on stuff and made a mistake. Michelle and I look forward to seeing those of you who will be at our wedding!

Upcoming Ragtime Festivals

2006-04-16

I hope all is well with everyone. I will be performing at two Ragtime festivals coming up in June. The first is the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, MO from May 31 to June 4. I am scheduled on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of that weekend. Immediately following the Scott Joplin festival is the Blind Boone Ragtime Festival here in Columbia. I will be playing in a concert along with stride piano greats Paul Asaro, John Gill, and Dave Tucker on Sunday, June 4th at the Missouri Theatre. If you are around the area, this is a concert you won't want to miss if you like stride piano. It should be a very fun evening.

In other news, the wedding is coming along nicely. Michelle and I are looking forward to celebrating with family and friends for this special occasion. Don't forget to visit the wedding website for more information.

Engagement

2006-01-17

In case you haven't heard by now, Michelle and I got engaged just before Christmas. We are currently in the process of figuring out a date/location for the event. Within this site, I have put up a little wedding website that will contain information about our special day. There is no information up yet, but we should be solidifying some details very soon! I hope everyone had a happy holiday and a great new year!

New Website!

2005-10-15

Well, I finally have my site up and running. Please feel free to browse all of the sections, as I have some photos, mp3s, and links to other great sites! Check out these articles about me from the Columbia Tribune. Thanks to Mr. Ray Speckman for his generous time in writing these. Day Trips 1 | Day Trips 2.

Michelle and I are currently living in Columbia, MO until she finishes school. We are having a great time here as we enjoy the easy living of the midwest! Michelle is busy with her schoolwork, and she is doing a little bit of dancing on the side. I am currently working at an Apple Authorized Reseller called The MacXprts Network. My title is "Director of Sales" as I am in charge of manning the storefront and "directing" other sales ventures throughout our company. Our storefront is the headquarters for the company, which includes Apple Specialists all around the country, so we get a lot of action coming through the store. I can't even imagine what the holidays behold, since Apple is introducing all of this great new stuff! Anyway, it keeps me busy, and I love Macs, so I enjoy the job.

Elsewhere on the job scene, I am doing some accompanying for the Stephen's College Dance Department. I go in every morning and play music for the modern dance classes. Accompanying dancers is a very rewarding experience, as I have to improvise music that fits what the dancers are doing. Not only has it helped my creativity, but I think it has helped my time! I'm also playing gigs around town, teaching a few students, and co-hosting a Ragtime show called "Early Times" on KOPN 89.5 FM, a community radio station here in Columbia. If you are around this area, tune in Sunday mornings from 7-9! I am on every other Sunday.

Michelle and I are very excited to move to New York, but we are definitely enjoying our time here in Missouri. We have spent some quality time with the folks and breathed a lot of fresh air. I will be using this section of the site for news/blog-type stuff, so check back often to find out what's going on. I am compiling a mailing list, and if you would like to be added, send me an e-mail using the contact page, and I will comply. I hope all is well with everyone, and please keep in touch!
